Each of these outstanding leaders will serve for a minimum of three years to provide governance, financial oversight, and strategic vision for YOTO. Please help us welcome the newest members of YOTO’s governing body:
Mark Papoccia is the Chief of Business & Consumer Banking at Vantage West Credit Union. “It is a privilege to join the Youth On Their Own Board of Directors to help create the foundation the youth of our community need to reach their full potential. No person should be impeded from developing their talents, especially the youth within our own communities.”
Katie Maxwell is an accounting faculty member at the UA Eller College of Management. “Joining the YOTO board allows me to marry my passion for serving others with my commitment to education. YOTO makes such a difference in the lives of its students and I am honored to do my part to support their journey.”
Georgina Smith is a Douglas native who moved to Tucson to attend the UofA. She is the Manager of External Reporting for Tucson Electric Power. “Serving on the YOTO board affords me the opportunity to make a positive difference in my community while paying forward the help and compassion extended to me by a few caring adults when I was young.”
YOTO’s board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future. They adopt sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, and they ensure that YOTO has adequate resources to advance its mission. Equally important, board members also serve as representatives and advocates for YOTO in the community.
