Youth On Their Own is excited to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors!
These outstanding leaders will serve for a minimum of three years to provide governance, financial oversight, and strategic vision for YOTO. Please help us welcome the newest members of YOTO’s governing body:
Tasha Gamez is a Tucson native and YOTO graduate who serves as the Community Liaison for the Department of Child Safety (DCS). “It is an honor to join the YOTO Board of Directors and serve an organization that made such a positive difference in my life.”
Dr. Anahi Ortiz is a recently retired physician who volunteers for several nonprofit organizations in Tucson. She loves to travel and has three beautiful grown children. “My personal mission is to serve the underserved, and homeless youth are one of the least seen of the underserved which is why this organization is a blessing and I am proud to serve on its board.”
YOTO’s board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future. They adopt sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, they ensure that YOTO has adequate resources to advance its mission, and they serve as representatives and advocates for YOTO in the community.
Join our board! YOTO is currently accepting applications from high school educators and student support staff. Learn more at yoto.org/boardservice.
