YOTO was featured on Cronkite News Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017. We had the opportunity to share one of YOTO’s Alumni’s story during her time in YOTO. It also gave Daniela Zasa, Director of Programs an opportunity to share what our students experience during this very crucial time in their lives. Daniela explained what YOTO does for students to help break these very similar barriers that YOTO’s Alumni Sarina LaMadrid had to fight through. Although every students situation is unique, when YOTO gets the opportunity to inform more of the community about ways they can help, it sets YOTO up to support more students. Although YOTO cannot support a whole family, at least in LaMadrid’s case we were able to support her which helped her support her family. “Youth On Their Own did more than support a teen, they supported a family,” LaMadrid said.
