Tucson, Ariz. – For the months of February and March, Tom Tatro – State Farm Insurance raised $500 for Youth On Their Own through the Quotes For Good campaign.
The concept of Quotes For Good began with a State Farm agent in Pennsylvania who worked with a local non-profit to raise money via insurance quotes. The campaign works by teaming up with a non-profit, advertising the campaign through social media, and then making a contribution to the selected charity every time anyone gets a quote from them.
When Tatro read about it, he thought it was perfect for the office in Tucson. Tatro, who has been with State Farm for 17 years, is the only State Farm agent in Tucson that has adopted this program. His agency started this campaign just this year, starting in January.
Tatro found out about YOTO through his Rotary Club, where he learned about the difference YOTO makes in the lives of the people it serves. “YOTO has a strong presence in the Tucson community,” remarked Tatro. He added, “Since we teamed up with YOTO, I’ve become aware that a number of people in my life have been YOTO students.”
Tatro has always enjoyed being involved with his community. Before State Farm, Tatro worked in the government but had a hard time balancing his job with his commitment to serving his community. His sister, a State Farm agent, encouraged Tatro to look into State Farm, because her job with the company gave her many chances to give back to the community. Now, as a State Farm Agent, Tatro is able to combine work with his community service.
Tatro encourages the YOTO youth to choose their attitude everyday. He said, “Life’s a lot better when you choose to be happy!”
Thank you again to Tom Tatro – State Farm Insurance for their contribution and support for our YOTO youth!
